Stuart HallStuart Hall has been excluded from the Le Mans 24 Hours after causing the accident that brought out the safety car for the second time earlier in the race.

The #009 Aston Martin LMP1 driver sideswiped the #26 Bruichladdich Bruneau Radical-AER at the Ford chicane while trying to get out of the path of a faster LMP1 car.

The Radical made heavy contact with the tyre wall and limped back to the pits where it has remained since.

"After my contact with the Radical earlier, the stewards have decided to exclude me from the meeting," said Hall. "So I won't be driving the car again this weekend.

"I made a mistake. I thought I was clear of the Radical and moved across on him. I did a lot of damage and I'm sorry for them. Everyone I've spoken to says it's a little bit harsh, but there's nothing I can do. I'm gutted."

The #009 car will have to complete the race with only Peter Kox and Harold Primat sharing the driving duties.
