Sylvain Guintoli has returned to MotoGP to stand in for the injured Loris Capirossi for the rest of this weekend's German Grand Prix.
The Frenchman, who now races in World Superbikes, had been on standby after testing for the Pramac Ducati team at Mugello last week.
Capirossi suffered chest and shoulder injuries in an accident at Assen, forcing him to miss both that race and the Italian GP.
He hoped he would be sufficiently recovered for the Sachsenring and rode in this morning's opening practice session, but was subsequently declared unfit and stood down in favor of Guintoli from practice two onward.
