Sylvain GuintoliSylvain Guintoli could return to MotoGP for the German Grand Prix to substitute for the injured Pramac rider Loris Capirossi.

World Superbike racer Guintoli competed in MotoGP with Tech 3 Yamaha in 2007 and Pramac Ducati in 2008, taking a best result of fourth with a spectacular ride for Tech 3 in the wet 2007 Japanese GP.

The 29-year-old Frenchman departed for Superbikes, first in the British championship then at world level, in 2009 following a tough season with Pramac, but has now been invited to test for the Italian squad at Mugello on Monday.

Capirossi is currently out of action after suffering rib and shoulder injuries in a crash during Assen qualifying last week. He has been forced to sit out this weekend's Italian GP and no date has yet been set for his return.
