Esteban Guerrieri will leave the European racing scene this season and switch to the Firestone Indy Lights Championship with multiple championship-winning team Sam Schmidt Motorsports.
The 26-year-old from Argentina was a title contender in Formula Renault 3.5 last year, and raced in Formula 3000 as far back as 2004. He said he was now focused on building a career on the American scene.
"Coming to race in the U.S. is a big change of direction in my racing career," said Guerrieri. "I take it as a new big challenge for myself. I want to learn as much as I can from every single new experience, and I am with the right team to do that."
