Marcus Gronholm has been taken to a hospital for tests after a crash in practice for the X Games in Los Angeles.
The double World Rally champion is competing in the RallyCross element of the event, and hit a concrete post during a practice run.
Gronholm was knocked unconscious in the incident, but event organisers reported that he is awake and alert in a nearby hospital and undergoing precautionary tests.
The Finn now races in America's Global RallyCross series in a Ford Fiesta, and is the current championship leader.
