New Audi driver Jamie Green believes he can win his first DTM title in his first season with the manufacturer.
Green, who never won the crown during his eight-year stint with Mercedes, switched to Audi during the winter and was announced as a member of the four-car Abt Sportsline squad during last week's Geneva motor show.
"Winning the championship remains my big goal," said the 30-year-old Briton. "Even though Audi didn't live up to its own expectations in 2012, I start the new season completely impartially and hope that we can fight for the title this year.
"I'm happy that I can compete for Audi in one of the most successful DTM teams. The last title was two years ago and I think that the necessary will to win is there."
Audi was never in serious contention for the drivers' crown last year, Team Rosberg's Edoardo Mortara its only representative to win a race. Despite leading the manufacturers' standings entering the final round, Audi was eventually beaten to the prize by BMW.
Head of Audi Sport Wolfgang Ullrich said in Geneva: "We did not maximize the potential of the car last year, and have been working very hard over the winter to make sure we can't have that problem again."
