Toni Gardemeister will use a Hankook-shod Skoda for his return to full-time international rallying in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge this season.
The long-time factory World Rally Championship driver announced last month that he had formed his own team under the TGS Worldwide banner and had secured the funding for a full IRC program. He has now confirmed his technical package for the season, and that he will contest a further eight rounds of the series, in which only drivers' best seven scores count.
"The Skoda is a proven car in the IRC and the Hankook tires have performed brilliantly on these events in the last couple of years so I'm delighted with the package we have put together," said Gardemeister.
"Having driven for Skoda in the past I know the car will be good and I look forward to testing the package before we really get started in Canarias."
Gardemeister will contest all the remaining 2011 IRC events bar Madeira, Acores and the Cyprus finale. It will be his first major international rallying program since losing his Suzuki WRC seat when the manufacturer withdrew at the end of 2008.
