The stars of NASCAR Sprint Cup racing are setting their eyes on the Indianapolis Motors Speedway as the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard is approaching fast. This year’s edition of the race is set for Sunday, July 26, and all involved are determined to make it a race to remember.
Two-time Allstate 400 at the Brickyard winner Tony Stewart today joined the chorus of voices insisting that this year’s race will be a competitive event without tire problems. Stewart closed a press conference with teammate Ryan Newman at IMS by saying: “I strongly urge you to come. Goodyear put in a huge effort to get it right. It’s going to be a good show.”
Four-time Brickyard winner Jeff Gordon also is convinced that Goodyear has found a great tire combination for the track. “I can promise all the fans out there that if they want to come to the Brickyard and see a great race, and be confident that the tires are not going to be an issue, you can trust me,” Gordon said.
