IndyCar Series champion Dario Franchitti admitted that he could not get up to speed in the preseason test at Barber Motorsports Park as he grappled with his car's setup.
While his Ganassi teammate Scott Dixon was a frontrunner throughout and ended the test in third, Franchitti was unable to break into the top 10 and was only 11th in combined times.
"I think we struggled from the moment we got here," said the three-time champion. "Scott has been fine and we need to work on our setup. It's up to myself and the engineers on the Target team to get this figured out. We'll go back to the drawing board."
As Franchitti struggled, Dixon said it was business as usual on his side of the operation.
"Team Target had a good couple of days with lots of big and good changes," he said. "We're just going through the motions and making necessary adjustments before we start the season in St. Pete."
