A.J. Foyt Enterprises has been penalised and fined for a technical infringement during last weekend's race at Toronto. The No. 14 car of Mike Conway failed a post-race technical inspection after a discrepancy was found in the size of the fuel tank.
"We felt the discrepancy in the size of the fuel tank was enough that it potentially could have provided a track position advantage and the penalty is reflective of that," said IndyCar's Will Phillips.
Foyt has been fined $15,000 and penalized 10 entrant points for the discretion, although Conway's podium finish – his first of the season – was allowed to stand.
