A.J. Foyt told the Indianapolis Star that the dispute with his grandson that resulted in A.J. Foyt IV vacating his grandfather's No. 41 on Bump Day in favor of Jaques Lazier was "no big deal."

Foyt IV left Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday without speaking to reporters after stepping out of the car prior to qualifying. While declining to say specifically what transpired, the four-time Indy winner said, "It was no big deal. Things like that happen."

Foyt added that he regretted not going to Lazier sooner. Like Foyt IV, Lazier was unable to get the car up to speed and failed to qualify.
