The fourth stage of the Dakar Rally has been shortened in order to allow competitors to have more time to rest.
A big number of competitors did not manage to return to the overnight halt by nightfall yesterday and, having to face the passage of the Andes today, the organizers have decided to delay the start of the stage by 90 minutes. The stage will now finish at the third control point and will thus be reduced by 40 kilometers.
The "public zone" planned for the stage has also been removed.
