Dollar General announced today their sponsorship expansion of IndyCar Series driver and team owner Sarah Fisher of Sarah Fisher Racing, LLC in 2009 to add Texas Motor Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway to their sponsorship of Fisher at Kansas, Indianapolis, Kentucky and Chicago.
The sponsorship expansion means Fisher will now compete in all of the IndyCar Series SuperSpeedway events in 2009.
Rick Dreiling, Dollar General's chairman and CEO, stated: "Sarah's determination and devotion to the sport is an inspiration to us all. It is with great pleasure that Dollar General increases its support of Sarah and her team as they pursue their goals."
Said Fisher: "I'm so ecstatic that Dollar General will be helping us get to Texas and Miami," said Fisher, who will start 11th in today's Road Runner Turbo Indy 300 at Kansas, her first race of the season. "To think this partnership began in mid-2008 and has grown to this caliber is a true testament to how much Sarah Fisher Racing has grown. We are continually humbled by our family of partners which has allowed us to take steps towards reaching our goals."
She added: "I took my rookie test at TMS back in 1999, and to compete there again makes me very happy because it will be my first start there as a team owner. And, to go to Miami is very special to me, as well, because it's the home of my best IndyCar Series finish: second! I'll never forget that day."
