Tomas Scheckter's fourth start of the 2011 season comes with his third different team, as he'll race for Sarah Fisher Racing at Las Vegas.
The South African will drive the Angie's List-sponsored No. 57 car alongside Ed Carpenter in the team's usual No. 67. This marks Fisher's first foray into running two cars in 2011 after doing so in four 2010 events.
Scheckter's prior starts this season came with REDLINE Xtreme sponsoring SH Racing's effort, run in conjunction with KV Racing Technology at Indianapolis and Dreyer & Reinbold Racing in Baltimore. Scheckter filled in for Justin Wilson at D&R in Loudon.
“I got a call from Sarah a while back and, to be quite honest, with the way their cars have been running this year, this was an opportunity that was hard to pass up,” Scheckter said. “Sarah has done a great job and I'm proud to be part of the team. I've really enjoyed working with Ed in the past, and I'm looking forward to Vegas.”
More than 30 cars are expected for the IZOD IndyCar World Championships Presented by Honda.
