The opening stage of the final leg of the Rally of Turkey has been canceled following heavy overnight rain.

The organisers have decided that the deluge made conditions on the 16.76-kilometer Deniz stage too muddy to run at a competitive pace, so the crews are now heading straight for SS19, Mudarli, instead. There is now word yet on whether the scheduled second run through Deniz after the mid-morning service will now take place.

Sebastien Loeb will hold the lead when the rally resumes, 16s ahead of Petter Solberg and 17sec ahead of Mikko Hirvonen.
