The winning K plus K Motorsport Saleen of Karl Wendlinger and Ryan Sharp has been excluded from the FIA GT race at the Hungaroring on Sunday. The S7R was thrown out for failing to conform with the regulations when its engine failed to stall when the restrictors were blocked during post-race scrutineering.

Wendlinger had survived early-race contact with Alex Muller's Vitaphone Maserati and he and Sharp went on to win comfortably.

The disqualification awarded victory to the Vitaphone Maserati of Michael Bartels and Andrea Bertolini, which had finished more than 30 seconds behind in second place.

That gives Bartels and Bertolini a four-point lead in the championship over the Chevrolet Corvette of Mike Hezemans and Anthony Kumpen.
