Ferrari F1 aero chief to step down
Ferrari's head of aerodynamics John Iley will leave the team at the end of this year when his current contract expires, AUTOSPORT reports. The Briton, who joined Ferrari in the newly created position in November 2003, held discussions recently with the team about his future and it was mutually agreed that his deal would not be renewed
Iley's departure comes after a difficult season for the Maranello-based team, with the F60 having failed to take a victory so far this year. The move means that chief designer Nikolas Tombazis will take on increased responsibility for the aerodynamic development of the team's 2010 challenger.
Iley has previously worked with the Jordan and Renault teams, and was linked with a move to Honda several years ago.
