JR Motorsports has once again entrusted Canadian Ron Fellows with road racing responsibilities in the team's No. 5 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. It's the fifth year in a row Fellows will compete for JRM.
Fellows will race this weekend at Road America and the next two road races in August at Watkins Glen and Montreal. Four prior victories in the series include a win for the two at Montreal in 2008.
“I have competed in a lot of races with JR Motorsports, and it's been great fun,” Fellows said. “They have an amazing group of people, and we've been competitive at almost all of the races.
“That's what brings me back and keeps me young. My relationship with Dale (Earnhardt) Jr. began more than 10 years ago, and I'm proud to have driven for both him and his father.”
Fellows joins a list of usual “road course ringers” in the Nationwide ranks that includes Michael McDowell (Joe Gibbs Racing), Jacques Villeneuve (Penske Racing), Max Papis (Richard Childress Racing) and Turner Motorsports' duo of Nelson Piquet Jr. and Miguel Paludo, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series regulars who will be in action in the team's Nationwide cars this weekend.
