Fairuz Fauzy will make his debut on a grand prix weekend on Friday when he drives a Lotus during the first practice session in Malaysia.

The Malaysian driver will take to the Sepang circuit to replace Finn Heikki Kovalainen, who will then be back in action for the afternoon session.

Fauzy, signed as the team's reserve driver, will be the first Malaysian to drive Formula 1 machinery in an official session since Alex Yoong raced for Minardi in the 2002 Japanese Grand Prix.
