Top Euro Series Formula 3 team ART has been bumped to the back of the British F3 grid for race two at Spa today after officials discovered an irregularity with the squad's three Dallaras in parc ferme following second qualifying yesterday.
Officials penalized the squad for running irregular elements on the front wings of all its cars and thus drivers Valtteri Bottas, Jules Bianchi and Esteban Gutierrez, who qualified second, third and 10th for tomorrow's race, will now start from the back.
FOTA boss Peter Briggs said: "There's an FIA regulation that says you are not allowed to attach self-made parts to the main plane of the front wing. It was spotted in scrutineering and is a judgment of fact. They made a mistake, but rules is rules."
F3 Euro Series points leader Bianchi said: "We have a piece on the front wing that is not allowed for this championship, but it's OK because we are not in the championship and don't take points."
