A minute of silence will be observed on the grid ahead of the start of Sunday's Australian Grand Prix, in honor of the victims of the Japanese earthquake.

The FIA, FOM and Australian Grand Prix promoter have agreed to the measure to honor the victims of the recent natural disasters in Japan, Australia and New Zealand, as well as those affected by them. In addition to the silence, the teams have agreed to carry stickers on each car as a further mark of respect to the casualties of the earthquake in Japan.
