F-Renault: Hegewald joins Interwetten for Spa
Interwetten Racing has announced that German Tobias Hegewald will replace Mihai Marinescu for round two of the Formula Renault 3.5 championship at Spa-Francorchamps on 2-3 May.
Hegewald has been confirmed for a seat in this year's Formula 2 series, but tested extensively with Interwetten's Dallara FR3.5 machine at Valencia last month with the intention of improving his circuit knowledge ahead of the opening F2 race at Valencia in May. Spa is set to host a Formula 2 meeting on June 26-28.
Walter Raus's second seat will again be occupied by South African Adrian Zaugg, who raced strongly for the team in the opening round in Barcelona last week.
Zaugg set the second fastest race lap in a charge from 22nd to 10th in race one, and ran as high as second in Sunday's feature race before dropping to fifth in wet conditions.
The confirmation of Zaugg's presence at Spa rules out his participation with South Africa in the clashing A1GP event at Brands Hatch.
