Marcus EricssonMarcus Ericsson will stay with iSport for the 2012 GP2 season, and the non-championship finale in Abu Dhabi later this month, the team has confirmed.

The Swede joined iSport for the 2011 GP2 season, picking up podiums at Barcelona and Silverstone on his way to finishing 10th in the drivers' championship. In his previous season with Super Nova he won at Valencia.

"I couldn't be happier," Ericsson, 21, said. "iSPort is a great team and with the support from my sponsors and the continuity from last year, I feel we will be competitive to challenge for the championship."

iSport team principal Paul Jackson said he hoped Ericsson would be a title challenger next year.

"Having seen Marcus develop into a real front runner in 2011, everyone at iSport is delighted to have Marcus on board for another season in which we are hoping to challenge for the title."
