Eric Lux (FAR LEFT), who tied CORE autosport drivers Gunnar Jeannette and Ricardo Gonzalez for the 2011 LMPC class championship in the American Le Mans Series, is now joining CORE for the season-opening event. Lux will drive alongside CORE team principal Jon Bennett and Colin Braun in the team's No. 05 PC class entry.
Lux's Genoa squad, which he raced for in 2011, has sold both its 2011 chassis, one to Muscle Milk Pickett Racing and the other to RSR Racing, both new 2012 class entrants.
The 23-year-old Williamsville, NY native has driven prototype and GT sports cars in multiple series, historic racers of all types and stock cars in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East division. When not racing, Lux works as a driving instructor and is very active in community service initiatives.
The team has not yet announced the driver lineup for the sister No. 06 car, but it will run at Sebring.
Also in the PC class, Merchant Services Racing Ltd. announced it will field a two-car effort for the full season. A SPEED.com report indicated its driver lineup will include Kyle Marcelli, a two-time winner a year ago in class.
