Erebus racing launch V8 Supercars 2013

Erebus Racing's all-new Mercedes V8 Supercar was launched in Australia on Thursday. The three E63 AMGs, which are built to V8 Supercars' new Car of The Future regulations, were presented along with drivers Maro Engel, Tim Slade and Lee Holdsworth.

"At the Bathurst 12 Hours last year, I spoke with a representative from AMG and he told me, 'I don't believe this will ever happen.' This project has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember and tonight this dream has become a reality," declared team owner Betty Klimenko. "There is a bit of a sense of disbelief that we're here.

"The only way have achieved what we have is because of the dedication of AMG, Stone Brothers Racing [which Erebus took over during the winter] and Erebus Motorsport. They are the true heroes of tonight."

Also launching its new car on Thursday was the championship's dominant squad, Triple 8 Australia. That team, which will again field champion Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes in Holden Commodore CoTFs, is competing under the Red Bull Racing Australia banner this year in deference to its new sponsor.
