Francois Duval, Stobart Ford, Germany 2010Francois Duval and his co-driver Denis Giraudet have emerged unscathed from a big crash on the second run through the infamous Panzerplatte stage on Rally Germany.

Returning to the sport for the first time in 18 months, Duval rolled the Stobart Ford on the day's final stage. Both he and Giraudet were taken to hospital for precautionary checks. They have been discharged, but Giraudet is suffering after he aggravated an old rib injury. The damage to the Focus is believed to be substantial and the car will not restart for tomorrow's final day.

Giraudet said: "We're both OK. Francois is in some pain, but okay. We were pushing hard when the car understeered. We rolled between two hinkelsteins. I'm not sure how many times we rolled over, but when I came out of the car, there was a lot of damage to my side."
