Dunlop has been selected to supply control tires for the new Moto2 category from next season.
It had originally been expected that tire choice would be free when the 250cc championship's replacement is introduced in 2010, but at a Grand Prix Commission meeting at Assen today it was decided to award a control tire contract to Dunlop.
The company currently supplies the whole 125cc and 250cc fields, but lost its last MotoGP team when Tech 3 Yamaha switched to Michelin in 2008.
Chassis choice remains open in Moto2, although all bikes will use the same Honda engine.
A prototype Blusens BQR Moto2 bike was demonstrated by former riders Jurgen van den Goorbergh, Steve Parrish, Alex Criville and Dirk Heidolf at Assen today, and is currently being used in the Spanish national series.
