Ducati has completed the first test of its 2012 MotoGP contender, the GP12.
Reigning World Superbike champion, and former MotoGP rider, Carlos Checa was called up for three days of running at Jerez this week, joined by test rider Franco Battaini. Conditions were cold but dry throughout the sessions, allowing Ducati to get through its full planned program.
MotoGP race riders Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden will get their first laps on the 2012 machine in the official test at Sepang from Jan. 31 to Feb. 2.
