Martin Tomczyk's second-place finish in the DTM race at Valencia is in doubt due to a potential issue with one of the sets of tires used by the German during the race.
The results from Sunday's race, where Tomczyk climbed from ninth on the grid to take second behind his Abt Sportsline teammate Mattias Ekstrom, remain provisional while officials investigate the matter further. It is understood that Tomczyk used a set of tires that were not part of his race allocation.
The stewards have discussed the matter with Audi, and must now decide if they are going to issue a penalty to Tomczyk.
