Martin Tomczyk has been disqualified from second place at this weekend's DTM race at Valencia due to using a tire that was not part of his race allocation.
The Audi driver finished second on Sunday (click here for race report), and those who finished behind him have now been moved up a position, meaning that home driver Miguel Molina takes the final point after moving up to eighth place.
The error has been put down to a mistake at Audi. Drivers who do not make the third segment of qualifying are then required to nominate a set of brand-new tires that they will not use for the rest of the weekend. While Tomczyk's team nominated a set in accordance with the regulations, one tire from this set was put on his car by mistake during the race.
Tomczyk's exclusion means that Bruno Spengler takes second place behind race winner Mattias Ekstrom, while Alexandre Premat completes the podium in his 2008-spec Audi.
