The DTM has scrapped Friday practice sessions for the coming season, halving the amount of track time available to drivers before qualifying.
The 2012 race format included 90-minute practice sessions on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings, each session split by a 15-minute rest period in the middle.
For 2013 only the Saturday track time will be available to drivers, with Friday being given over to support series, including the Formula 3 European Championship and Porsche Carrera Cup Germany.
The series has also confirmed that all qualifying sessions will now begin at 2:40 p.m. on Saturdays while races will start at the earlier time of 1:30 p.m. on Sundays.
