Dreyer & Reinbold's first program since suspending its IndyCar effort will be to run a car in the Global Rallycross element of the Los Angeles X Games in August.
DRR's IndyCar entry in conjunction with Panther Racing was withdrawn from the series after the Indianapolis 500 due to a lack of sponsorship. The team has now announced that it will link up with James Sullivan's SH Racing operation – a regular Indy 500 co-entrant – and top GRC team Olsbergs to run the "star car" at the X Games event on the first weekend of August. The team's driver has not yet been announced.
"GRC is an emerging sport which will bring our sponsor partners a whole new audience and serves as a great compliment to our IndyCar efforts," said Dreyer & Reinbold co-owner Robbie Buhl.
SH joined forces with DRR to field Tomas Scheckter's Indy 500 entry in 2011. This year the squad worked with Indy winner KV Racing Technology and Tony Kanaan.
