Tomas Scheckter will remain with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing for the majority of the rest of the IndyCar Series season.
The South African joined the team for Milwaukee, having returned to the championship for a one-off with Dale Coyne Racing at Indianapolis. He has now completed a deal to race nine of the 12 rounds remaining on the 2009 calendar.
Scheckter qualified a strong 10th on his Dreyer & Reinbold debut at Milwaukee and finished 13th.
"I'm really excited about it," he said. "I think we proved in a short time in Milwaukee that we are competitive. [Team owners] Dennis [Reinbold] and Robbie [Buhl] have given me a great opportunity."
Reinbold added: "He did a great job for us in Milwaukee, and we are extremely happy that we were able to work something out with him and [sponsor] MonaVie for nine additional races."
Dreyer & Reinbold has expanded to three cars this weekend – an arragement set to be repeated on a regular basis now that Scheckter has been retained.
Mike Conway is running the full season with the team, with Milka Duno joining for a limited program of oval races. Roger Yasukawa has already committed to the Motegi race with the squad, too.
