Autoweek reports that Chinese driver Ho-Pin Tung has the inside line to drive one of the Dragon Racing team's two cars at the Indianapolis 500, with Frenchman Simon Pagenaud – who made an impressive IndyCar debut as a substitute for the injured Ana Beatriz at Barber Motorsports Park – being "targeted" by the team for its second car. Autoweek says the team plans to test the Chinese driver – who has raced in GP2, A1GP and Superleague Formula, and tested for the Renault F1 team – at Chicagoland Speedway next week.

Dragon reappeared at Long Beach with Paul Tracy at the wheel of its single car, after its association with Gil de Ferran and driver Tony Kanaan fell apart for lack of sponsorship. Tracy is due to return to the team for Texas, Toronto, Edmonton and Sonoma, but the Canadian had already signed with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing for Indy before concluding his deal with Dragon.
