Andrea Dovizioso won Sunday's charity Supermoto event held in aid of the Marco Simoncelli Foundation.
Seven-time MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi and double World Superbike champion Max Biaggi – who recently announced his retirement from the sport – were also present in the inaugural running of the Sic Supermoto Day.
Held on the new Latina circuit in Italy, the event paired road race and Supermoto stars for a 58-lap race (a tribute to Simoncelli's race number). It was Dovizioso and teammate Mauno Hermunen who triumphed, with Rossi finishing third and Biaggi eighth.
Dovizioso was recently forced to sit out Ducati's three-day private test at Jerez with a neck injury but was able to compete due to the slower speeds in Supermoto. Marco's father Paolo was present to hand out the awards.
