Robert Doornbos will switch to the championship-leading Team Japan car in time for this weekend's Superleague Formula round at Zolder.
The 29-year-old Dutchman raced the sister Team Netherlands car at the Assen season-opener, but the Atech Reid squad, which runs both outfits in the series, has elected to put him in the Japan car previously raced by Britain's Duncan Tappy.
"We had some problems at Assen with a coming together, which meant that, unfortunately, the car had too much damage to finish the race and we were unable to start in race two," he said.
"I think that we should have a nice crowd in Zolder and it would be great to win for the Japan team. Atech always produce good cars so we will be looking to score some good points."
Doornbos, who started 11 grands prix for Minardi and Red Bull, plus stints in Champ Car and IndyCar competition, has two Superleague wins to his name from his season with AC Milan in 2008.
