Ott Tanak, DMACK Ford, Rally GB 2011DMACK motorsport director Dick Cormack says there is more speed to come from its all-new gravel tire which sixth-placed Ott Tanak is running in this week's Rally GB.

The Estonian is making his competitive debut in a World Rally Car and on DMACK's soft-compound tire which was specially built for this event. It is the first time a top-class car has run DMACK rubber in the WRC.

"We're delighted with the way the tire is working," said Cormack. "And we're hoping we might be able to get a bit higher than sixth. A top five would be a fantastic result, especially when you consider this is only DMACK's seventh gravel rally.

"The tire is a more open pattern with a softer compound and that's worked really well in these conditions. It would be nice if we had a bit more rain this afternoon and, on the second run, there was a bit of loose around. That would be great for the tire."

Cormack added that he was similarly impressed with Tanak's performance in the Fiesta.

"Ott has been fantastic," he said. "I've worked with quite a few young drivers, but you can tell this guy's there. It's his whole attitude and the way he's so clued-in about everything."
