Scott Dixon set the fastest time in the final warm-up session ahead of Sunday's IndyCar race at Edmonton.
After Saturday's constantly changing conditions, drivers were greeted by a dry track and the Ganassi driver capitalized by setting a 1m16.9006s lap four minutes before the session ended, comfortably beating Rubens Barrichello's earlier benchmark by 0.5647sec.
Barrichello, who will start the race from seventh on the grid due to penalties affecting some of those who qualified around him, held on to the second spot for KV Racing Technology, with Mike Conway (A.J. Foyt Racing) third.
Alex Tagliani, Ryan Hunter-Reay and Sebastien Bourdais rounded out the top six, with Dario Franchitti, who will start from pole, finishing the morning eighth-fastest behind Ryan Briscoe.
