Paul di Resta has received a five-place grid penalty at the Italian Grand Prix because of a gearbox change.
The Force India driver finished 10th in Belgium last weekend, but his Force India outfit discovered a gearbox problem since then and subsequently replaced it. A statement issued by the FIA said that di Resta would be starting FP3 with a new gearbox, which is a breach of the regulations as the unit has not been used for five events.
The replacement part means that di Resta will drop five places on the grid, which will be a big blow because his car had appeared to be competitive in the opening practice sessions.
