Simona de Silvestro was fastest in an interrupted IndyCar warm-up session at the Baltimore street circuit.

The HVM driver, who returns to the series this weekend after being forced to miss last week's race at Sonoma due to a problem with U.S. immigration, topped the times with a 1:24.0676, although two interruptions due to accidents prevented any of the teams from being able to complete a significant amount of running.

A huge accident involving Tony Kanaan prompted the first spell under yellows, the Brazilian suffering a brake failure at Turn 1 and launching over the top of compatriot Helio Castroneves (see separate story). That was cleared up after about 10 minutes and the green flag was shown, only to revert to yellows almost immediately when Ana Beatriz and JR Hildebrand collided at the first corner.

James Jakes arrived on the scene immediately afterwards and found himself unable to get through, leaving the corner completely blocked. The session was not restarted.

Danica Patrick was second-fastest at the end, with Tony Kanaan, Dario Franchitti and Will Power just behind.
