Randy de PunietRandy de Puniet will make his MotoGP comeback at Brno this weekend, after passing a fitness test on the leg he broke at the Sachsenring.

The 29-year-old Frenchman fractured the tibia and fibula in his left leg during the German Grand Prix four weeks ago. He tested a Honda CBR1000 in France on Monday, after which he confirmed he would attempt to return in the Czech Republic this weekend.

"I wanted to confirm I would be OK to ride and not just ride slowly, but fast," said de Puniet. "After the test I am very happy and also confident for this weekend. There was a small amount of pain in the first five laps but this is normal, especially with the ankle when changing gear. We will see how it goes during the practice and qualifying sessions.

"I will need to go step by step in each session, to work with my head, the most important thing is to be prepared for the race and to get the best result."

De Puniet only missed one race, at Laguna Seca, due to the injury and remains eighth in the championship standings.
