Davy Jones will compete this week in the 44th Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 for the second time in his career as the experienced road racer looks to add another achievement to his long list of international wins.

Jones will join the Patent it! Race Team's SCORE Lites/Class 12 entry (ABOVE). Driving the No. 1201 Foddrill chassis alongside Jones throughout the rugged 692.82-mile off road event will be Steve Lisa, Tony Lisa and Chuck Hemmingson. Between them, they have won hundreds of road races, but all of them have limited experience in the off-road world.

“I'm very excited to go back to Baja this year and to have another shot at winning," said Jones. "Last year everything was completely new to me and it was a great learning experience."

Activities for the the 44th Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 will begin on Wednesday and will conclude on Sunday. This year's race will start for the 37th time and finish for the 21st time in Ensenada. The race will start and finish on Boulevard Costero, adjacent to the picturesque Bahia de Todos Santos in front of the historic Riviera del Pacifico Cultural Center in the heart of Ensenada.

"Hopefully, this time things will be a bit easier and we can focus more on our pace right away," Jones added. "It's definitely going to be a tough job for me since I haven't been in an off-road vehicle for a year. It will no doubt be a shock to my body because, no matter how fit you are, these races are very physical. Baja is not only one of the toughest races I've been a part of, but also one of the most fun.

"The event is amazing, the tradition and the fans are second to none. I can't wait to get down there and get the race started.”
