This past week, racers from all over the country gathered at world-renowned Virginia International Raceway for the American Le Mans VIR 240. Starting on the pole for the fourth round in a row, Bryan Hixon led the Skip Barber MAZDASPEED Pro Challenge race from the start until the second to last lap. A late spin opened the door for David Knight to close a large gap and take a lead that would hold on until the end. The win is Knight's first in SCCA Pro Racing Mazda MX-5 Playboy Cup/Skip Barber MAZDASPEED Pro Challenge.

Despite the tough finish, Hixon claimed the MAZDASPEED Pro Challenge Championship points lead. Greg Holloway showed improvement throughout the week and finished third. Round 9 in the MAZADASPEED Pro Challenge will be held in San Diego, Calif., at the Coronado Speed Festival Sept. 20-22.
