Dan Clarke – known as "Speedy Dan" during his Champ Car days – is leaving open-wheel cars behind to ply his trade in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. The Briton will drive a Dodge for the Simone-Meade Autosport team in the all-Canadian series with backing from RxRemedy.

“I want everyone to know I'm coming here with a lot of excitement and eagerness to race and learn with my fellow competitors" said the 28-year-old former Champ Car and Indy Lights racer. "To be part of this series is an honor for me and I consider it the chance to open a new door in racing.”

Left without an IndyCar ride following the Champ Car/IRL merger, Clarke stepped back to Indy Lights last year with Walker Racing. Clarke finished seventh in points with a pair of second-place finishes at Toronto and Mid-Ohio.
