Antonio Felix da CostaAntonio Felix da Costa topped the second GP3 practice session of the weekend at the Nurburgring.

The Portuguese driver came out ahead during a frantic first 15 minutes of the session, where the top spot changed places multiple times. However, there was little action once the cars returned to the track, leaving his time unchallenged at the front.

Addax's Tom Dillmann prevented Alexander Sims completing a 1-2 for Status, but the Irish team still had a good day as third driver Ivan Lukashevich made sure all of its cars were in the top 10.

Valtteri Bottas was fourth for ART, and he was joined in the top five by teammate James Calado, who was one of the few drivers to make a significant improvement in the final few minutes.

Rio Haryanto and Lewis Williamson made very slight improvements, which were enough to cost former championship leader Mitch Evans two places to drop him to eighth toward the end. But there were no worries out front for da Costa, who had a spin on his second run which prevented him from being able to extend his 0.037sec advantage over Dillmann.
