David Coulthard believes that his Race of Champions experience will be an asset when he competes in the DTM's first stadium event in Munich this weekend.
The non-championship event, which takes place inside Munich's Olympic Stadium over two days, is designed to bring the series closer to the fans.
Mucke Mercedes driver Coulthard, whose best results in the DTM have been a pair of eighth places, thinks that the head-to-head format could play into his hands.
"It'll be interesting to find out what it's like to drive the C-Class around the Olympic Stadium," said the 13-time grand prix winner.
"I've already competed in the Race of Champions on five previous occasions in big stadiums in Paris and London and in 2008, I even finished runner-up to Sebastien Loeb. Perhaps that gives me a slight advantage."
The event gets under way on Saturday with Audi drivers racing against each other and Mercedes racers doing likewise, with each "manufacturer winner" competing against each other in a "superfinal."
Sunday's event is a direct head to head with the quickest 16 drivers from Saturday's opening round of races competing against each other.
