David Coulthard has been awarded an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.
The Scot won 13 grands prix in a Formula 1 career that began when he was called up from the test driver role to take the late Ayrton Senna's place at Williams in mid-1994. He switched to McLaren at the end of the following year, and became its longest-serving driver, as he stayed on board for the next nine seasons.
Coulthard then played a pivotal role in the development of Red Bull Racing, joining the team in 2005 when it was created from the former Jaguar squad. Although he retired from the cockpit at the end of 2008, he subsequently stayed on with Red Bull as a consultant.
The 39-year-old has worked a pundit on Britain's BBC's F1 TV coverage since retiring, and now dovetails that role with a racing comeback in the DTM.
