CORE autosport announced its driver lineup for its No. 06 PC class entry in the American Le Mans Series' opener at Sebring International Raceway. Alex Popow heads the lineup, the Venezuelan driving alongside countryman E.J. Viso (LEFT) and Burt Frisselle.

Popow, a veteran with Starworks Motorsport in the Grand-Am Rolex Series, and Viso, the IndyCar veteran in his fifth season, will be making their ALMS debuts. Frisselle has prior PC class experience with Level 5 Motorsports, in 2010.

Popow and Viso, interestingly, were part of the original driver lineup for Starworks' No. 2 Daytona Prototype at this year's Rolex 24 at Daytona, but a last-minute sponsor lineup required a driver change that saw both drivers sidelined. Frisselle ran at the Rolex in the Doran Racing DP alongside his brother Brian, Paul Tracy, Dr. Jim Lowe and Billy Johnson.

The full-season lineup will include Popow in all events, and Viso in potential non-conflicting IndyCar weekends. It will be a busy season for Viso, who besides his main focus as a KV Racing Technology IndyCar driver, has also created the “Team Viso Venezuela” program for up-and-coming Venezuelan drivers. Two of his countrymen will run under the TVV banner in Star Mazda this season.
