Codemasters has announced the "F1 2011" game will be launched in September this year, as the series expands following the success of its 2010 version.
The game will again be available for the Xbox 360, the PlayStation and for PCs on Sept. 23. Hand-held editions of F1 2011 are also in production for Nintendo 3DS and Sony's next generation portable entertainment system (NGP), but specific release dates for the hand-held editions are to be announced.
"In 'F1 2011,' players will be challenged to 'Be the driver, live the life, go compete,' with wide-ranging technical and game-play advancements on and off track and vastly extended competitive and cooperative multi-player components," Codemasters said in its announcement.
The game will feature all of the official teams, drivers and circuits from the 2011 World Championship.
