Dani Clos will join the Trident Racing team for the second round of the GP2 Asia Series in Abu Dhabi next month. The Spaniard will thus make his debut in the Asia series, having raced in the main championship with Racing Engineering in 2009.
Clos will replace Johnny Cecotto Jr., who raced for Trident in the opening round of the series, also in Abu Dhabi.
"We are really happy to have the opportunity to see Dani in one of our cars," said team boss Maurizio Salvadori. "The first GP2 Asia Series race in November showed Trident to be very competitive and I think Clos is a very fast driver.
"Surely it will not be easy for him to close the gap with the drivers who have already run in Abu Dhabi for two test days and one race weekend, but I am confident that Dani will find the right feeling with the car and with our team very quickly."
